ZDoom is now available in a variety of flavors! GZDoom is the major port, with improved hardware (OpenGL) and increased software rendering capabilities, whereas LZDoom is an alternative with a different feature set, as explained below. Although the underlying ZDoom codebase has been decommissioned, the most recent official release is archived here for posterity.
GZDoom is the most recent version, designed for modern systems with modern graphics hardware. (Vulkan/OpenGL 4.5 capability is desired, although the hardware renderer's minimum requirement is OpenGL 3.3, while the software renderer's minimum is Direct3D 9)
LZDoom is built on a previous version of GZDoom. It does not support all of the capabilities now supported by GZDoom, but it can run the hardware renderer on older hardware that does not support newer OpenGL features.

Try out some Dev Builds if you want to remain ahead of development and be the first to try out the newest features in development before everyone else!
